Baby, Baby, Baby...

Just in time for the holidays (yes, it's getting to be about that time) I've made my smallest terrarium yet. It's very gift-able at just 4 inches high. In fact, it is a spice jar if that helps put the size into context. Contains a mini selaginella moss and organic soil. In person viewings result in an immediate and prolonged, "Awwwwwwww"... from all that see it. Order yours today!

ZOMG Ponies!

For reasons too complicated to explain, I had some terrariums at work last week and one of the guys hooked me up with actual well lit composed shots. Hot dang! Kicks the crap out of my camera phone pics that's for sure.

In other news, terrariums make great office pets.

Well I'll be...

So- I know I said I do custom terrariums but if this is what you're into, you've gotta provide your own shoe! At first mention of a "stripper heel as terrarium", my mind went to somehow shoving plants and dirt in the clear heels. Shows what I know...

***stripper heels as terrarium as seen on Stylist.com***

Although I have to say, with the absence of any glass or enclosure, this is more or less simply a planter no?

The Gray Lady and me...

This past Thursday, I was featured in The New York Times in a story about the resurgence of terrariums. I was terribly honored to be a part of the story. As the article mentioned, I do sell terrariums at the Brooklyn Flea* but you can always email me for custom orders at: smallworldterrariums@gmail.com

*I will resume selling after the 4th of July.

The Wedding Parties

Crate and Barrel hosts an event for all who register with them called The Wedding Parties. I met their event coordinator, Jared, at the Brooklyn Wedding Crashers show and he invited me to participate in 2 of their shows this month. I was extremely flattered and excited to be there! I made some great contacts and got free mimosas and cappuccino. Always about the snacks with me huh?

I went with yellow daisies b/c I really dug their pop graphic appeal. Everything around my table was a mix of greens, yellow, and pinks so it was perfect. Should you be engaged and registered at Crate & Barrel, I will be there on the 21st as well(Houston/Broadway location). Oh, and if you are curious, the glass pictured is actually from Crate & Barrel. I used the Tilt Bowl, the Olson Bowl, and the short Delfina Jar.

The Littlest Ones...

While at the Wedding Crashers event, many of you asked if I make any smaller terrariums. As a matter of fact I do.

Here are a few I made for a day out at the Brooklyn Flea this past fall.

These range roughly from the size of a large apple to a small cantaloupe...

I do! I did!

This past Saturday, the 9th, was the Wedding Crashers show, sponsored by Brooklyn Based. Maybe it was the Prosecco, maybe it was the passed hors devours, but I had a great time! Obviously I loved meeting potential clients but I hadn't anticipated the warmth of the other vendors in the bridal community. Perhaps because I work in fashion? An industry known for it's, shall we say... "colorful" personalities?

I met a ton of cool, interesting, and talented people and spent the whole day chatting and snagging treats off of the catering tables. Both The Green Table and One Girl Cookies were there! Yum!

So between running my mouth and stuffing my face, I barely took any pictures. Once back home I took a few more.
